On May 5, Estonia’s most responsible institutions received quality labels that recognize employers who stand out for their societal, environmental, and governmental activities. The Estonian Responsible Business Forum annually awards Estonian institutions with gold, silver, or bronze labels. A. Le Coq received the highest recognition, the gold label.
This year marked the 16th occurrence of the Responsible Business Index. In total, nearly 60 companies began filling out the questionnaire, of which 36 received bronze, silver, or gold labels. Companies were evaluated based on 55 questions across three categories: climate and environment, society and social environment, and governance.
“This is an extremely important recognition, confirming that we are on the right track with our activities. Compared to the silver label we received in 2020, this is a significant step forward, as we have systematically set increasingly ambitious goals and met them. Sustainable development is part of our DNA, and we adhere to it daily throughout the entire value chain,” summarized the importance of the recognition A. Le Coq CEO, Jaanus Vihand.
The gold-level label signifies an outstanding and consciously responsible organization that is proactive, systematic, and consistent. The organization’s behavior is responsible at all management levels and by all employees. The company serves as an example and a leader in promoting responsible practices among other organizations or related parties in its field more broadly.
The Responsible Business Forum connects companies that consider it important to operate responsibly to ensure the sustainability of their company, society, and country. The goal of the VEF is to promote the mindset that responsible business is beneficial for the company, easy to implement in practice, and increases the company’s value in the eyes of society. The label is issued for two years.
