The Ministry of Culture thanked companies and patrons who have contributed to the field of culture financially or through actions on Thursday. A. Le Coq was awarded the “Cultural Friend of the Year” recognition for supporting Tartu 2024, the European Capital of Culture, and cultural events in Southern Estonia.

“We see both in Estonia and elsewhere in the world how important the symbiosis of private capital and public funding is in promoting culture. Thanks to private capital, Estonian culture is more diverse, bold, and accessible. This evening, we celebrated and thanked entrepreneurs who also understand the value of this jointly created effort. It is heartening that even in challenging times, private supporters continue to contribute to cultural life, not only financially but also with their time, skills, contacts, and advice, which can sometimes be even more valuable,” said Minister of Culture Heidy Purga.

“A. Le Coq has been deeply honored to be a Cultural Friend of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 for this more than 365-day-long grand festival. With our support, exciting new cultural events have taken place in Tartu and Southern Estonia, reaching a broader community. This collaboration has been a collective effort by our entire team, with dozens of different activities contributing to our support and visibility: from developing special edition beverages, introducing the A. Le Coq Beer World and Estonian beverage culture to European journalists, to the cheerful cultural ambassador Limpa’s activities at Tartu 2024 events,” summarized A. Le Coq’s Marketing Director, Katrin Vernik.

In addition to A. Le Coq, the title of “Cultural Friend of the Year” was also awarded to Mait Rõõmusaar, Anna Elam, Peter Elam Håkansson, and LaSpa Group. The recognition for “Cultural Organizer of the Year” went to the technological art farm Maajaam. The Ministry of Culture received 46 nominations for recognition this time.
